New Corona About 80% of children are infected at home Japan Pediatric Society September 9, 6:14

The Japanese Academy of Pediatrics, which is investigating the effects of the new coronavirus on children, has compiled data for about 300 infected children so far, and about 80% of the children whose infection routes could be identified were infected at home. I knew it was.

In order to investigate the effects of the new coronavirus on children, the Japanese Society of Pediatrics has established a database in which medical institutions such as pediatrics nationwide participate to register information on infected persons aged 0 to 19 years. By the day, data of about 300 people have been collected.

As a result, 253 people, 85% of the total, had no children who died because their condition had improved without any special treatment.

Approximately 80% of the 258 persons whose infection route was identified could be infected at home (198), of which 91 were most likely from the father, 48 from the mother, and possibly both parents. The case was 19 people.

There were 16 cases that were thought to have been infected by people related to kindergartens and nursery schools, and 16 people from school related people totaled 32 people, or about 10% of the total.

Tomohiro Katsuta, a lecturer at St. Marianna University School of Medicine who is compiling data, said, "There were relatively few cases of children being infected outside the school. To prevent the infection, parents should not bring the virus into the home. I think it is important to do this."
