A Loto player, who had filled his grid in Evreux (Eure), won the jackpot by winning the five million euros involved in the draw on August 24, reports

Paris Normandie

.

This is the biggest gain ever recorded in the department.

The last record dates back to 2003, with a gain of four million euros won by a player from Bourgtheroulde-Infreville.

The lucky winner validated his grid with the numbers 18, 19, 22, 28, 37 and 2 at the La Civette tobacco shop.

The identity of the player is, to this day, not known.

But a few things have filtered out.

According to the tobacconist, it would be a regular customer of the trade "close to retirement".

He told the tobacconist that if he won a jackpot, he would buy a van.

Another winner in the same place

The Norman player came to check his ticket “one or two days” after the draw.

By discretion, the amount of his winnings was not displayed on the machine.

The player had to go first to the Agence Française des Jeux (FDJ) in Louviers (Eure), then to Paris, the final destination of all the winners pocketing more than one million euros.

There, he was able to validate and pocket his winnings by being advised;

perceive such a sum of money deserving some precautions.

It seems that La Civette tobacco is a business beneficial to the players of the FDJ.

A few days after the lottery winner, it is a customer who scratched an X20 who won 20,000 euros.
