She said that reading is an important factor that helps build a distinct and different personality among children, but parents and teachers should pay attention to the necessity of choosing topics and books that suit the child's age and perception, and not to mix or randomly deal with the matter.

Al-Qassem continued: “Mothers can start by reading some light stories, and talk to their children at the fetal stage, specifically the sixth month of pregnancy, when the sense of hearing has completed in the fetus, this behavior contributes to the impact on the child's personality in the future, as studies have indicated that mothers who They read to their children at this stage, and they realized at the age of a year or a year and a half, that their child is ahead of his peers by stages, as he has terms and a vocabulary to give him a personality, through which he can easily express what is on his mind.

She stressed the need to provide books that suit the ages and preferences of children, since each age group needs a specific type of books that contribute to drawing their attention towards the content of the story, pointing out that choosing a book, with the appropriate standard for the age group, contributes to loving and accustoming the child to dealing with him. .

Al-Qasim explained: “Newborns up to the age of three should not be given paper books or hard or fabric covers, but cards that include simple pictures of their surroundings should be read to them, preferably in black and white, and free from contrasting colors. And she continued: "The most appropriate option for children from six to nine months old is to present them with cloth books, as they will tear the papers and will not benefit from them.
