[Explanation] Flowers, cakes, applause... At 9 am on September 8, 30 "heart-changers" and medical staff from all over the country gathered in the multifunctional hall on the 9th floor of the outpatient building of Nanjing First Hospital to share their "hearts" story.
[Commentary] Nanjing citizen Wang Guilan in a red dress and his "heart friends" came to the scene together, gave flowers and applause to the medical team, and told about his "heart" journey.
In 2001, 53-year-old Wang Guilan was admitted to Nanjing No. 1 Hospital due to dilated cardiomyopathy. The medical team worked out the best plan for "heart exchange surgery" based on the patient's physical condition.
A week later, after four hours of hard work, Wang Guilan successfully "changed his heart."

It's almost 20 years since this operation. I want to thank the team of thoracic surgery in Nanjing First Hospital. They gave me a second life. I am always grateful.

[Explanation] It is reported that the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery of Nanjing First Hospital is one of the first heart transplant admission centers in the country. In 2011, it was named "National Key Clinical Specialty".
Since 2001, Nanjing First Hospital has carried out the first heart transplant operation, and 102 cases of "heart exchange" operations have been completed.
