A liberation.

The animals at Marghazar Zoo in Islamabad (Pakistan) will finally leave their hell.

The establishment was indeed, for many years, singled out by animal rights associations.

Dilapidated enclosures, lack of resources, poorly trained staff… Marghazar had multiple defects and the animals toasted.

Many of them are dead, and the survivors show physical and psychological consequences as a result of ill-treatment.

With the closure of the zoo, pronounced by the high court of Islamabad, opens a new chapter in their life.

Some cannot integrate nature reserves and will have to find a new reception center, to be finally treated.

This is particularly the case of the elephant Kaavan, star of the zoo.

Our partner Brut tells you the story of the animals of Marghazar.
