Last week on The #MichelleObamaPodcast, Conan and I reflected on our marriages.

This relationship can be one of the most foundational pieces of our identities — bringing us so much joy, meaning, and support every single day.

But one thing is for sure: It also takes a lot of work;

a lot of honesty with ourselves and our partners.

That's one thing I've learned.

I'd love to hear some of the things you've learned about marriage and about yourself.

Let me know in the comments.

"There is no magic recipe to make this work, other than the basics of finding someone, being honest about what you want with that person, going out with them in a serious way, engaging in the relationship. , see where it's going and then make it work, ”she said in an episode of The Michelle Obama Podcast.

Persevere

Clearly, the wife of Barack Obama advises not to go to the next one at the first difficulty.

She also takes her own marriage as an example.

“There were times when I felt like pushing Barack out the window, and I say that because you have to know the feelings will be intense, but that doesn't mean you give up,” she added.

“Young couples face these challenges and they're willing to let go because they think they're over.

If it destroys a marriage, then Barack and I would have broken up many times in our marriage, but we have a very strong union.

If I had dropped the case, if I had left, during these complicated times, then I would have missed all the beauty that was there too, ”detailed Michelle Obama who also suggests seeing her relationship as“ a team that 'we want to see winning'.
