This year's Chuseok holiday rail pass can only be reserved for 1 million seats, half of the 2 million seats on trains operated by Korea Railroad (KORAIL).

On the 7th, Korea Railroad announced on the 7th that it would purchase tickets for Chuseok trains for two days on the 8th and 9th, with 100% of the window seats being non-face-to-face.

Previously, Korea Railroad decided to release only window seats for all train tickets operated during the Chuseok holiday to keep the distance between train passengers, and delayed the reservation schedule by about a week from the last 2-3 days for system adjustment and testing.

Window seats may not be allocated for tickets for senior citizens and persons with disabilities that have already been booked on the 1st before the system adjustment.

During this reservation period, you can reserve tickets for trains running from the 29th to the 4th of the following month online, such as on PC or mobile, from 7am to 1pm.

As only window seats are sold, you can only reserve 1 million seats, half of the total train seats (2 million seats for 6 days).

On the 8th, tickets for the Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, and Chungbuk Lines, and on the 9th are tickets for Honam, Jeolla, Gangneung, Janghang, and Jungang Line.

The reserved ticket must be paid from 3pm on the 9th to midnight on the 13th.

Tickets not paid by the 13th will be automatically canceled and assigned to applicants waiting for reservation.

Customers (seniors and persons with disabilities) who received a ticket over the phone on the 1st must pay on-site at the station counter from the 9th to the 13th, and receive the physical ticket.

An official from Korea Railroad said, "In consideration of the severity of the Corona 19 situation, we are selling only window seats to create a safe holiday. We ask for your patience as even family units have to sit apart."
