Completion of new panda breeding facility "Panda no Mori" at Tokyo Ueno Zoo on September 7, 17:42

Three years ago, a new panda breeding facility was completed at the Tokyo Ueno Zoo, where the giant panda baby was born.

It is modeled on the forest of Sichuan Province, China, which is our habitat, and we would like to encourage new breeding by actively moving it.

The completed facility is named "Panda no Mori", and it is about 6800 square meters in size, which is three times the size of the current Panda building.

A commemorative ceremony was held on the 7th, and Governor Koike of Tokyo and others celebrated the completion by cutting the tape.

"Panda no Mori" is a model of the forest of Sichuan, China, where giant pandas inhabit, and reproduces trees and rocks, with the difference in elevation so that they can move more actively.

I want to lead the birth of a baby next to "Shangshan" by becoming the home of "Lee Lee" of "Shangshan" and mother "Shinshin" who were born three years ago.

"Panda no Mori" will be open to the public from the 8th, but at Ueno Zoo, to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, the number of visitors is 6500 people per day throughout the park, and reservations can be made in advance on the website or by phone. Is required.

Governor Koike said, "I want the animals to become familiar with me in my new everyday life."

Meanwhile, the public toilet in Ueno Park was renovated with the cooperation of students from Tokyo University of the Arts.

In the private room, animals such as giant pandas that are kept in the Ueno Zoo are designed, and the sound that reproduces the squealing sound is also played, making it unique.
