The game Moi, c'est Madame allows you to practice responding to sexist sentences -

Moi, c'est Madame

  • The Me, c'est Madame board game aims to train yourself to respond to sexist situations.

  • The creators of this game hope to educate and raise awareness of these questions in a fun way.

"Shit, I should have told him that!"

What woman has never experienced this unpleasant feeling, in her car or in bed, after being unable to respond to a sexist and inappropriate remark?

To never relive this situation again, Elsa Miské, co-founder of the Marseille feminist podcast YESSS, and game designer Axelle Gay are launching Moi, c'est Madame, a board game that allows you to train to no longer be subjected to sexist situations. and disturbing.

Concretely, sexist sentences are compiled on so-called “attack” cards, as well as, for the so-called “response” cards, possible responses that work, since they come from testimonials from the YESSS podcast.

“A player takes turns taking a card from the attack pile, which can be targeted to a particular player or to all players,” explains Axelle Gay.

The other players have riposte cards in their hands to answer.

There are also improvisation cards, to encourage players to try their own retorts.

"

"You saw her age, she's out of date!

"

Confused, players must find phrases to reply to "She did not have her promotion because she did not go under the desk" or "You saw her age, she is outdated!

".

And, “little bonus”, in the words of Axelle Gay, “over the course of the game, we earn points which at the end of the day allow us to say what type of feminist we are.

There is no competition, the goal is rather to value all the personalities.

"

"While playing, we can have ideas, techniques in the face of sexist situations which can become reflexes, even for the most timid", rejoices Elsa Miské.

And above all, to generate debate between the players.

“When we play, it plays for hours on end,” she laughs.

I was able to play games until two in the morning, when we stopped for half an hour to talk.

“Is when my guy does that good?”.

“Ah bah, this happened to my cousin!”.

It becomes a moment of sharing, of exchanging experiences between women.

"

The creators also hope that the male sex will lend themselves to the game, to sensitize them to the question.

“The guys who were able to play this game, they hallucinate what we can hear, sighs Elsa Miské.

And I was also able to observe that a few men take all the place in the game… So we discuss it.

The first pre-sales of Moi, c'est Madame will be open from September 10 on the crowdfunding platform Ulule.

The creators have also established a collaboration with an association to create a version of the game for high school students, and thus, evoke the issue of sexism in a more playful way from adolescence.
