According to the official WeChat message of the National Immigration Administration, in order to resolve the inconvenience of some Hong Kong residents in the Mainland due to the impact of the epidemic, they are inconvenient to return to Hong Kong to apply for renewal of expired Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (commonly known as "Return Permits" ), the Exit-Entry Administration of the People’s Republic of China has introduced temporary measures to accept applications for renewal of Homecoming Permits on behalf of them, which will be implemented on September 4.

  According to the work arrangements of the Exit-Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong residents residing in the Mainland during the epidemic period have expired home-entry permits, and I can submit application materials for renewal to the entry-exit administrative department of the public security organs at or above the county level.

Applicants who are in urgent need of renewal can consult with the entry-exit management department of the local public security organ to go through the formalities or go directly to the procedure.

The new certificate will still be produced by the Hong Kong China Travel Service and mailed to the applicant's Mainland receiving address.
