Italian Fabio Bucciarelli wins Visa d'or News for his report on Covid-19

The Italian photojournalist won the most prestigious award at the Visa pour l'image festival, held in Perpignan, for a report in Bergamo, an Italian city at the epicenter of the pandemic.

Covid-19 pandemic
, which was awarded.

.
They even made the front page.
This
40-year-old Italian
photographer
had already won the Robert Capa Prize gold medal in 2013 for a report in Aleppo, Syria.
For 10 years, he has covered many areas of conflict around the world.
"
The virus of loneliness
"
But it is for a report made at home, in Italy, that he is therefore awarded.
Fabio Bucciarelli had a front row seat when his country was first affected by the pandemic in Europe.
He worked in immersion, in a Red Cross team, wearing the same hooded jumpsuit as the nurses and doctors.
I wanted to enter the privacy of patients, explains the photographer.
He wanted to capture "
the virus of loneliness
", he says before adding: "
It is the worst facet of the disease.
"
Also rewarded: the American Bryan Denton, winner of the Visa d'or Magazine.
For six months, he seized in India the disruption of the water cycle by global warming, between droughts and floods.
