  • A high-level service bus (BRT) must serve boulevards Cessole and Gambetta.

  • The extension of line 1 of the tramway to the Ariane, and even Drap, has been completed.

In addition to the future line 4 of the tramway, which will serve Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Cagnes-sur-Mer within a few years, two additional projects are announced in Nice.

Two cases that Christian Estrosi wants to see completed during this new mandate.

A BRT to relieve line 1

The mayor of Nice had announced it

20 minutes

before his re-election: to lighten the traffic on line 1 of the tramway (120,000 passengers per day), to the north, a high-level service bus project (BHNS) serving boulevards Cessole and Gambetta is under study.

And it could run electrically.

The metropolis announces that it has experimented, between August 11 and August 27, an articulated bus with 157 seats operating on batteries.

The vehicle was tested on the current line 12 and recharged at the Place Toja and Cap 3000 terminals.

This service will be able to transport 40,000 travelers, says the community.

And to specify that its implementation will be the subject of a consultation in this district recently turned upside down by the installation of cycle paths at the time of deconfinement.

The tram to Ariane

It was in great demand.

It will take place.

The extension of line 1 of the tramway to the Ariane, and even Drap, along the SNCF tracks, is now in place.

The one-time tram-train envisaged by Christian Estrosi is ultimately more expensive than this option which should cost, depending on the metropolis, between 220 and 270 million euros.

“The right-of-way of the Nice-Breil line is sufficient to develop in parallel a track strictly dedicated to the tramway, details the mayor.

Stops will be set up at Saint-André-de-la Roche, L'Ariane, La Trinité and Drap.

»Commissioning announced for 2026, at the very end of the mandate.
