Some 30,000 new places will be created in higher education between 2020 and 2022, particularly in health and digital, announced Friday the Minister of Higher Education Frédérique Vidal in an interview with

Le Figaro.

The new places will be created "in particular in health and paramedical, digital and sustainable development, all these sectors in tension, which have taken on meaning in view of what has happened in recent months", explains the minister.

180 million euros dedicated to these new spaces

The budget for these market creations, which appears in the stimulus plan announced Thursday by Prime Minister Jean Castex, amounts to 180 million euros, the ministry said.

“The idea is to have a much more extensive dialogue between the State and the regions to define the sectors in tension,” adds Frédérique Vidal.

These 30,000 creations include the 10,000 new places announced in July for the start of the most popular sectors of higher education, especially in health training, to cope with the influx of high school students this year after a record success rate. at the baccalaureate.

A back-to-school period "at most face-to-face" wishes the Minister

Regarding the start of the academic year this year, which has started in recent days, the minister wants students to resume classes "as much as possible in person" despite the rebound of the coronavirus epidemic.

"Rather than saying that there will be entire promotions from a distance and others on site, I recommend doing 'hybridization', with a small part from a distance," she explains.
