A man in Yunnan threw his wife off the bridge while handling a divorce, the Provincial Women’s Federation: strongly condemned

  On September 3, the Public Security Bureau of Yiliang County issued a notice of the case: At 9 o'clock on September 3, 2020, Tang Mousong and his wife Weng Moulan in Jiaokui Town, Yiliang County were going to the Civil Affairs Bureau for a divorce due to a marriage dispute. During the procedure, when passing the Second Bridge of Xiaohe, Jiaokui Town, Yiliang County, the two quarreled and grabbed on the bridge. Tang Mousong picked Weng Moulan and left the scene, causing Weng Moulan to be admitted to the hospital for treatment.

  In this regard, on September 4, the Yunnan Women’s Federation WeChat public account "Yunnan Women’s Voice" announced that the Provincial Women’s Federation was highly concerned about the incident, strongly condemned Tang Mousong’s brutal behavior of hurting his wife, and firmly opposed all forms of violence. For women’s behavior, we strongly support judicial organs to severely punish criminal suspects in accordance with the law.

  The Yunnan Provincial Women’s Federation emphasized that at present, the suspect Tang Mousong has been controlled by the public security organs, the victim Weng Moulan is being treated in the hospital, and the case is being further processed.

After the case occurred, the Provincial Women's Federation requested Zhaotong City and Yiliang County Women's Federation to learn more about the progress of the investigation of the case, the physical and mental condition of the victim, and the family situation, and work closely with relevant functional departments.

The Provincial Women’s Federation will continue to pay attention to the progress of the case, provide legal assistance, psychological counseling and other services to the victims and their families in a timely manner, and protect the legal rights and interests of the victims in accordance with the law.
