What made you want to launch a collection of decorative items?

I have always had a passion for decoration.

It comes from the women of my family who took care to present tables in a very modest way.

My room was always delicate thanks to my mom.

And although I was a tomboy, I was flirtatious.

I liked to match the colors, install the little curtain that goes well….

I happened to decorate sometimes for my friends or give advice.

I subscribe to wonderful home decor magazines.

As soon as I'm on tour, I roam the garage sales, I hunt in second-hand shops.

I like objects to tell stories.

How did this collaboration with Exsud Design come about?

My friends encouraged me and one of them introduced me to Charlotte Esquenet, one of the co-founders of Exsud Design, whose job it is.

We talked a lot and we fell in love at first sight and everything happened relatively quickly.

She came to the house and saw who I was.

How did the design of this collection go?

I told him about the ideas for objects I had.

I showed him my sketches.

I love to paint and draw, and even though I do it really badly, I do it anyway.

We discussed and exchanged a lot on our ideas.

Charlotte respects raw materials and she works with little hands.

I have always had a lot of respect for those who work in the craft industry, carpenters, seamstresses… For all those who have a passion for beautiful objects.

Did you follow the entire production phase in the workshops?

I was there for the choice of materials and I attended the design of the first prototypes.

Alas, I was then limited due to the confinement.

So, we had a lot of meetings on Zoom… I followed the finalization from a distance via a camera.

Tell us about this collection ...

I tried to bring a bright side.

I wanted a colorful collection with pep!

I took particular care in the choice of materials.

The cushions for example are bi-material.

This allows you to switch your decor according to your mood with a cheerful color on one side, a softer tone on the other.

It was also important for me to have linen, velvet, satin, aged steel, wood… I also love candles.

Light is extremely important in a house.

I couldn't find a shade that I liked… We made these pleated shades the old-fashioned way and Charlotte brought the design side with her feet.

The jumble, I find that it immediately tells a story as soon as you hang something on it, be it postcards, photos or even as here small dried flowers.

At home, the jumble are loaded!

Ligati is all that ...

What are your sources of inspiration?

These are the places that trigger my ideas.

What surrounds me.

I listen, I see, I probe.

I am attentive to what is happening.

I was inspired by my travels, whether in Cuba, in Africa… I am very inspired by the landscapes.

Personally, I am rather countryside and nature.

I was inspired by my Island of Beauty, which is overflowing with colors and nuances.

The rock, the maquis, the immortal… Even if we don't have a lot of yellow in the collection.

But also by old Nice and the cobblestones in the old towns in Italy.

What did you learn during the development of this collection?

I discovered how to make a lampshade and the time it takes, all the work it takes, this professionalism and all the patience it takes to make an idea come true that is right on paper at the start ... tests, we start again.

All the patience it required, that's what I learned above all.

Why is this collection called "Ligati"?

This word imposed itself, it was obvious.

“Ligati” means “linked” in Corsican.

I really want to create a bond with the client, even if I don't like that word… It's like making a record, it's continuing to cultivate this bond between us.

I actually took pictures to feed social networks, since it has become super important now to introduce yourself, and keep this link - without bad puns.

How does it feel to launch this collection?

I present this collection and it makes me very funny.

I'm launching this collection, it exists!

I went after a desire that I had since I was little, and that I had buried a little, that I did not really admit to myself ... The meeting with Charlotte started everything, we are a team.

I am proud to have set foot in the stirrup.

It's super intimate to unveil this collection of decor, as intimate as a record after all.

These are objects that I will have drawn for myself.

Does the decorative creation nourish that of the singer and vice versa?

It cultivates what I want to tell.

This joyful, southern, luminous side that we find in the collection is what I also tell in my last record.

I think we have every need at the moment because we are not living the best period currently.

I want to bring some kind of entertainment, a page of recreation, joy and positivity whether in decoration or music.

Do you want to continue if this collection is a success?

I hope to be able to discover other ideas, for the moment, it is much too premature and it would be much too pretentious to advance too much ... But obviously, I am overflowing with ideas!

I already have four collections in mind… If it had been up to me, there would be even more pieces, but “piano, piano, qui va piano, va sano”, as they say at home.

We expect you more with a fashion collection, right?

Yes, I love it, it's related I think.

I have a very pronounced taste for people who have the artist side, creation.

Would you like to collaborate with a fashion designer?

Why not, but I need it to match.

To be able to develop a brand or a collection, it has to be sincere and spontaneous, that there be a real encounter.

Otherwise it is superficial and the story is not pleasant to live.

I have that chance and I realize it, I am grateful once again for the opportunity that is offered to me and I do not want to lie.

Doing this only for business, that doesn't interest me!

Your future projects?

I continue the music even if the times want it to be more difficult.

Setting up a tour is complicated!

I continued to record songs even in confinement and hope to release a record when it's ready.

I can't wait to get back on stage and share.

What I love most deeply is this exchange!
