For several days, the students and staff of the Nîmes police school (Gard) have been the subject of a Covid-19 screening campaign, indicates the prefecture.

This campaign was set up after the discovery of three positive cases of coronavirus among students and permanent staff.

More than 200 tests have been carried out.

Classes continue

"Nine people were declared positive, mostly asymptomatic, the others only show very slight symptoms," continue the prefecture services.

The confirmed cases are confined either at home for the most part, or for the others in a specific building responding to a particular process.

The contact cases will also be tested, and invited to stay at home while awaiting the results.

Despite the discovery of this cluster, the courses are continuing at the police academy, with the precautions put in place from April, “which allowed this establishment to be little affected by the epidemic, a only asymptomatic case in 4 and a half months and 200 people tested out of 2000 staff, ”notes the prefecture, however.
