Filming on the new
Batman
movie
has been halted in Britain after a case of Covid-19 was recorded on the set,
Warner Bros.
reported Thursday
.
According to Vanity Fair, the positive is
Robert Pattinson
, who plays the mythical 'bat man'.
The suspension comes just days after production on
Matt Reeves'
film resumed
.
"A member of the production of 'The Batman' tested positive for Covid-19 and is in isolation, following established protocols," the study said in a statement.
"Filming is currently on hiatus,"
adds Warner Bros.
The study did not offer details about the patient or a forecast of when production will resume, which stopped in March - when filming was going halfway - due to the pandemic.
Reeves said his new film, which presents a dark and mysterious vision of Gotham City's masked man, was inspired by classics like 'Chinatown' and 'Taxi Driver' and shows a
"very human and very imperfect"
Bruce Wayne
trying to solve a series of crimes.
The film is scheduled to premiere in June 2021. A first trailer has been shown at a virtual event for DC Comics fans, 'DC FanDome'.
The trailer sees a mysterious villain leaving notes for Batman at crime scenes and the caped hero beating up a street thug before declaring,
"I am revenge."
