"Argument" (Tenet)

After several transfers, one of the most anticipated films of the year is finally released - Christopher Nolan's fantastic action movie "Argument".

The director's previous work is known primarily for its spectacular picture and intricate narrative.

Judging by the first reviews of foreign critics, the new picture of the cinematographer turned out to be at least as good as his other films.

Many reviewers point to a convoluted plot with many unexpected twists and turns.

The visual component also promises to be up to par.

The film's budget was more than $ 200 million, which is significantly more than the amounts allocated for other original projects of the director.

This allowed Nolan not to waste time on trifles: in one of the scenes, for example, he crashed a real Boeing 747.

The main idea of the film is the existence of inversion technology, which allows various objects to move back in time.

With her help, the main character of the film, a CIA officer, is trying to resist the Russian oligarch Andrei Sator, who is engaged in the arms trade, and to prevent the start of the third world war.

The roles in the tape were played by John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh.

"New mutants" (The New Mutants)

The events of the film "New Mutants" are set in the X-Men universe.

Five teenagers with supernormal abilities are placed in a secret medical institution - ostensibly to protect them from their own powers.

However, over time, the children realize that they are locked up, because others are afraid of them.

The heroes will try to get out of captivity.

The New Mutants movie became a kind of experiment of the Fox studio, which worked on it before the merger with Disney.

The project was filmed in the horror genre and prepared with the smallest budget among all the films in the franchise.

Another difference between this film and other comic book-based projects is its relatively modest caste: Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Blue Hunt and Henry Zaga starred in the film.

"Phenomenon" (Fatima)

The year is 1917.

The Virgin Mary appears to three Portuguese children and calls on them to stop the war.

They return home and tell their loved ones about it, but they are confused.

Nevertheless, this event forever changes the lives of heroes who have found their calling in the service of God.

The film is based on real events: in the first half of the 20th century, three children from the Portuguese city of Fatima claimed that they were a woman many times and transmitted prophecies about the future of the world.

The story was brought to the big screen by the Italian director Marco Pontecorvo, whose film "The Clown" was awarded a prize at the Venice Film Festival.

The film received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics: its rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website is 64%.

As Sheila O'Malley pointed out in her review for RogerEbert.com, The Phenomenon's narrative is simple and emotional.

The author, according to her, gave priority to "the sensual reality of the children's world and the people inhabiting it."

"Pretend to be my fiance" (Narzeczony na niby)

The stories of fictitious relationships flowing into real ones have more than once formed the basis of American and European films.

Among them - "Pretend to be my boyfriend", "Pretend to be my wife", "The Proposal", "How to get married and remain single" and many others.

Polish director Bartosz Prokopovich presented his own variation on this theme.

Moreover, in his romantic comedy, he tried to avoid genre clichés.

The life of the main character of the film "Pretend to be my fiance" Karina collapses overnight when she finds out about the betrayal of her beloved man.

Karina breaks up with him, and now, as soon as possible, she needs to find a person whom she would introduce as her lover at her sister's wedding.

Fortunately, the problem is solved by itself: at the intersection, a taxi driver Shimon crashes into her car, an ideal candidate for this role.

The heroine draws him into an adventure that turns her whole life upside down.

"Tales of the Gray Wolf" (Revolting Rhymes)

The animated film "Tales of the Gray Wolf" is based on a collection of poems by the British writer Roald Dahl, which are parodies of famous fairy tales with unexpected endings.

The cartoon shows reimagined versions of "Little Red Riding Hood", "Cinderella", "Three Little Pigs", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

The story is told from the perspective of the same storyteller - the Gray Wolf.

All stories are set in the modern world.

Previously, the cartoon was presented at the Seattle and Copenhagen film festivals, and one of its episodes, titled "Hooligan Tales", nominated an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.
