Nara Prefecture announced on the 2nd that one man in his 40s living in the prefecture was newly confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 524 people were confirmed infected in Nara prefecture.
Nara City also announced on the 2nd that a man in his 80s, who had been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus, died.
Seven people have died in the prefecture.
