[Explanation] On September 2, the China Meteorological Administration held a press conference to introduce the forecast of climate trends in September.

According to Wang Zhihua, spokesperson for the Department of Emergency Disaster Mitigation and Public Services of the China Meteorological Administration, it is expected that in September, the temperature in most parts of China will be close to normal at the same time to high, and the first frost will start late.

It is expected that in September, the temperature in most parts of the country will be close to the same period of normal year to high. Among them, the temperature in southern Zhejiang, eastern and southern Jiangxi, Fujian, northeastern Guangdong, and western Tibet will be 1 to 2°C higher.

Compared with the same period of normal years, except for the northwestern part of Heilongjiang, the central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia and the western part, and the northeastern part of Xinjiang, the first frost started 1 to 3 days earlier. The time of first frost in most other regions was later than the same period of normal years. So this is also good news.

[Explanation] Wang Zhihua said that in September, parts of China will enter the autumn flood season with more precipitation.

At the same time, September is still an active typhoon.

He reminded the public and relevant departments to pay close attention to forecast and warning information and take precautions.

In particular, the northwest and southwest parts of the region will have significantly more precipitation than normal. The autumn rains in West China are generally stronger; Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and other places need to prevent local rainstorms, floods, and secondary disasters such as mudslides and landslides caused by heavy rains.

It is estimated that in September, there may be 6 to 7 typhoons in the South China Sea and the Northwest Pacific, among which 2 to 3 will land or affect my country's coastal areas.

Relevant departments should pay close attention to the impact of heavy rains and strong winds brought on by typhoons on coastal areas, and do a good job of preventing typhoons.

[Explanation] At present, it is a critical period for the formation of autumn grain production.

Xue Jianjun, deputy director of the National Meteorological Center, said that since 2020, China's main grain production areas have been experiencing high temperatures, sufficient heat and abundant precipitation, and the meteorological conditions are conducive to grain production.

In September, attention should be paid to the possible adverse effects of typhoons and frosts on agricultural production.

Judging from the current weather forecasting situation, our focus is to prevent typhoons first, because typhoons will have a greater impact on the main grain producing areas in the Northeast.

The key defensive measures are the timely drainage of moisture and waterlogging in farmland.

Corresponding reinforcement measures should be taken for facility agriculture to prevent damage caused by strong winds.

On the other hand, frost has a greater impact on food production.

In general, the frost will appear late this year.

However, the frost will be earlier in the central-eastern part of Inner Mongolia and the northern part of the northeast.

In addition, my country's West China region, especially the southwest region, has more rainy weather. Pay attention to prevent the impact of waterlogging disasters.
