Establishment of PCR test center in university Test for Kyoto Sangyo University students September 3 at 1:34

In order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection, Kyoto Sangyo University has set up a PCR testing center on campus and announced that it will start testing for students and faculty members from the middle of next month.

The PCR test center newly established at Kyoto Sangyo University in Kita-ku, Kyoto uses saliva-based test reagents developed by a major analytical instrument manufacturer, Shimadzu Corporation.

The inspection cost is planned to be less than 1000 yen each time.

Targets are asymptomatic students and faculty members, and are intended for use by elderly faculty members and students who work widely outside the university.

About 40 inspections a day are possible, and we plan to start operation in the middle of next month.

In addition, after accumulating test know-how, in the future we plan to accept inspection requests from prefectures and cities.

At Kyoto Sangyo University, outbreaks of students, mainly in the spring of this year, have occurred, and the university aims to detect infected persons early by regular PCR tests, and thoroughly implement awareness-raising activities for infection prevention to ensure safety. I want to realize a good student life.

At the signing ceremony for the agreement with Shimadzu Corporation, which was held in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto on the 1st, President Mitsumasa Oshiro said, ``We will actively cooperate with the efficiency and sophistication of the inspection methods at Shimadzu Corporation and install similar facilities. I would like to provide know-how to other universities that I am aiming for."
