Chinanews.com, Beijing, September 2-Not long after "Bavi" left, the northeast region will face the test of this year's first super typhoon "Mesaq".

According to weather forecasts, "Mesaac" may land on the southern coast of South Korea around midnight on the 2nd, and entered Northeast China on the 3rd, bringing strong winds and rain.

The super typhoon "Mesaq" hits the East China Sea and the Northeast welcomes violent storms

Following the "Bavi", this year's No. 9 typhoon "Mesaq" became another northward typhoon. It was also the first super typhoon this year.

Affected by this, the three northeastern provinces will once again experience strong wind and rain brought by typhoons.

According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, the center of this year's No. 9 typhoon "Mesak" (super typhoon level) was located in the southeastern part of the East China Sea at 5 pm on the 1st, about 600 kilometers south of Jeju Island, South Korea.

It is expected that "Mesaac" will move northward at a speed of 15-20 kilometers per hour, with little change in intensity; or make landfall on the southern coast of South Korea around midnight on the 2nd.

After landing, the intensity was significantly weakened, and it entered northeast China from the border between China and North Korea around noon on the 3rd.

The influence of "Mesaac" on China is mainly in two aspects.

On the one hand, from 20:00 on September 1st to 20:00 on September 2, most of the East China Sea, the southern part of the Yellow Sea, as well as the coastal areas of Zhejiang, Hangzhou Bay, and the Yangtze Estuary will have 7-9 strong winds, among which the winds in the central and eastern seas of the East China Sea will be 10-13. The wind force in the nearby sea passing by the "Mesaq" center can reach 14-16 levels, with gusts of level 17 and above.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue blue typhoon warnings on September 1.

On the other hand, the latest monitoring shows that "Mesaac" is huge and will encounter cold air from the north during the later journey northward, which also means that the influence of "Mesaac" will be more obvious.

It is expected that from the night of the 2nd to the 4th, there will be heavy to heavy rains in Heilongjiang, Jilin, eastern Liaoning, and northeastern Inner Mongolia. The cumulative rainfall in the southwest of Heilongjiang, western and central Jilin, northeastern Liaoning, and northeastern Inner Mongolia can reach 100~180mm.

The strongest rainfall period is from the night of the 2nd to the 3rd.

The National Ocean Forecasting Station issued an orange wave warning and a yellow storm surge warning on the 1st.

It is expected that from noon on September 1st to noon on September 2nd, there will be 8 to 12 meters of violent waves in the eastern East China Sea to the violent waves area, and 4 to 7 meters of violent waves in the western part of the East China Sea and near the Diaoyu Islands to the violent waves area, and near Zhejiang There will be large waves to huge waves of 2.5 to 4 meters in the coastal waters, and medium to large waves of 2 to 3.4 meters in the coastal waters of Shanghai.

In terms of storm surges, due to the impact of typhoons, the Shanghai Luchaogang, Zhejiang Zhenhai and Zhoushan tide stations will have high tides reaching local yellow warning tides around the early morning of the 2nd.

Suspension of routes, closure of scenic spots, and early warning of river flooding

The impact of the super typhoon is in all aspects, as can be seen from the responses made by various places.

In terms of river impacts, due to the overlap and heavy rainfall between "Mesaq" and "Bavi" in the Songhua River Basin and the Ussuri River Basin, the water level in the basin continues to rise.

At 14:00 on September 1, the water level of the Haiqing Hydrological Station on the Ussuri River was 39.93 meters.

According to the future precipitation and the inflow of main and tributary streams, it is expected that the water level of Haiqing Hydrological Station will reach the flood blue warning standard (39.97 meters).

The Songliao Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources issued a blue flood warning on the Haiqing River section of the Ussuri River on the 1st.

Shipping in coastal areas will inevitably be affected.

The maritime departments of Ningbo, Zhoushan, and Taizhou in Zhejiang Province issued warnings for typhoon prevention, announcing that the coastal waters of their jurisdiction have entered Level III typhoon prevention.

Nine passenger ferry routes along the coast of Ningbo and six passenger ferry routes in Ningbo have been suspended. At the same time, 29 cruise ships and 56 emergency tugs are on standby, preparing for the typhoon.

Wading projects and some scenic spots have also been closed.

Ten key wading projects including Ningbo Meishan No. 6-10 Container Terminal Project, Jiaxing No. 1 Wind Farm Project, Guanbao's 50,000-ton Wharf Project, etc. have been suspended and construction ships have been evacuated from the construction site; some scenic spots in Zhoushan are closed, and Zhujiajian Nansha Scenic Area, Dongsha Bay Bathing Beach, Wushitang Scenic Area, and Baishan Scenic Area will be closed from September 1 to 2.

Multiple emergency response to start northeast and typhoon to grab time and harvest

Although the possibility of "Mesaac" landing in China is unlikely, the Meteorological Department said that the impact of wind and rain may exceed "Bavi", so it should not be taken lightly.

The National Defense Directorate decided to start the emergency response to flood control and typhoon level IV at 10:00 on September 1.

Relevant areas are required to closely monitor the development of typhoon "Mesaq", organize ships to avoid wind and offshore operations in the affected waters, and offshore breeding personnel to go ashore to avoid danger, strengthen the safety management of sea-related and island tourism, and highlight the short-term strength of typhoons Prevention of disasters such as small and medium river floods, mountain torrents, geological disasters, and urban waterlogging that may be triggered by rainfall, to ensure the safety of flood prevention and typhoon prevention.

As the typhoon approached, wind and waves in the East China Sea gradually increased.

The Zhejiang Meteorological Observatory has issued a maritime typhoon warning, and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources initiated a level IV emergency response to waves and storm surge disasters at 16:00 on August 31.

It is required to do a good job in the safe return of fishing boats to the port to avoid wind, the safety management of fishing boats in the port, the offshore operations and the transfer of offshore aquaculture personnel, and the timely closure of affected seascape areas and offshore passenger routes.

At this time, the crops in the Northeast are ripe, and the arrival of typhoons can easily cause crops to fall and waterlogging of farmland, which will affect the harvest.

On August 31, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs urgently deployed typhoon defense work, based on disaster relief and harvesting a bumper harvest, taking prevention of "Mesaac" as the primary task of current agricultural and rural work, and required Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia. Agricultural and rural departments in other places have implemented various defensive measures to effectively reduce disaster losses.
