On August 31, Guangxi Shuikou Customs in Nanning City carried out harmless destruction and disposal of a batch of suspected smuggled durians weighing 49.58 tons and worth about 1.2 million yuan. After crushing, high temperature and other treatments, this batch of durian will turn into about 30 tons of organic fertilizer for recycling in 2 to 3 days.
It is understood that the batch of destroyed durians was seized by the Shuikou Customs Anti-smuggling Branch recently when it destroyed a smuggled durian transfer point in its jurisdiction. None of these durians had gone through the quarantine approval procedures, and there was no phytosanitary certificate issued by the exporting country, source and sanitation.
