Just thirty years ago, Cuba entered the “Special Peacetime Period”, a long period of economic crisis caused by the fall of the USSR, its main ally. Today, Cuba still faces serious economic difficulties made worse by increased US sanctions. A crisis described as cyclical but which reminds some Cubans of the 90s.
