A dispute between neighbors would be at the origin of the tragedy. This Monday morning, a 71-year-old man was shot and killed in Cheylas, Isère, in a residential area where many elderly people live, the Grenoble prosecutor's office said, confirming local media information. The victim was found at his home, lying dead, with a bullet through his body.

The shooter had entrenched himself

Suspected of having killed his neighbor with whom he had a stormy relationship, an 82-year-old man took refuge in his home after the fact. The building and the neighborhood were evacuated by the police, the time that the octogenarian can be arrested.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, the GIGN finally stormed. The alleged shooter was found dead at his home. "He probably committed suicide," according to the Grenoble prosecutor's office. The gendarmes were seized of the investigation.
