A piece of wood and an electric soldering iron can "outline" a fine art piece with a unique oriental art style. Recently, the reporter visited Zhangye Shandan, Gansu, and explored the unique production technology of this provincial intangible cultural heritage. The Shandan pyrography uses basswood plywood as the material, uses electric ironing tools to ghost the painting, and is refined with Chinese ink painting techniques, lacquer, mounting, and inlay. It has a wide selection of materials, works and writes, suitable for large and small, landscapes, flowers, and figures can all be painted.

The 53-year-old Zhang Zhiguang is the heir of Shandan Brand. He has been studying pyrography at the age of 19 for 34 years. Beginning in 2018, he gradually integrated the subject of Shandan horse into the pyrography.
