Mossi Traoré is a young Franco-Malian designer. He navigates between the suburbs and Paris, between creation and transmission. Through his brand, this designer also wants to be useful to society.

Publicity

“To create is to be free” , affirms with conviction Mossi Traoré, young creator of the Mossi brand and founder of the “  Les Ateliers Alix  ” school.

“  Through the brand name I chose, it is my first name, but it is also the first name of my maternal grandfather. It is a heritage that is important to me. Who is Mossi ? Mossi is a young neighborhood, who assumes, who is not cold in the eyes, who always says "impossible is nothing"  " explains Mossi Traoré.

Mossi is also the will to do cultural mixing. My team, today is a bit like Benetton, there are people from all origins. I like to go out and meet the world. Mossi is four words : art, craftsmanship, fashion, and the world, ”he adds.

Discover fashion by flying in department stores

His passion for clothes came to him while sneaking in Parisian department stores. Child of the suburbs, Mossi Traoré built his career around sharing and exchange: I grew up sharing packs of potato chips with ten people, with all my friends. When you come from a neighborhood, solidarity is one of the values. I was born into a family where we all ate by hand around a dish. There has always been this notion of sharing, solidarity, mutual aid. "

Today, it is difficult to find qualified personnel when you are a young designer, because you cannot afford someone who has ten or fifteen years of work, who will inevitably have a price on the market and which could be hired by the big brands, the big groups, but not by young designers. So, I decided to train the staff I need myself. In fact, I have always found the idea of doing what you love while being useful to others pleasant. "

Passionate, Mossi Traore tells us about his ambition: My dream is to do haute couture with the mothers of my neighborhood. That is to say that all these women who know how to sew, all those who have talent between their fingers, one of my challenges would be to work with them, to create jobs for them and to reach the heights of fashion, but by making social and professional integration. I have ambition, but I am ambitious for these people too. "
