For this reason, the prefecture has decided to file a lawsuit with the Fukushima District Court against TEPCO for damages and lawyer costs that could not be reduced, totaling approximately 90 million yen.

To date, the prefecture has filed a complaint with the national dispute resolution center about personnel costs incurred in response to the nuclear accident and has continued discussions with TEPCO.

However, although the center settled the compensation for overtime of employees and about 1 billion yen in compensation, it did not include the amount that could not reduce the number of employees.

According to the prefecture, it is the first time in the whole country that a local government has appealed to TEPCO over compensation for a nuclear power plant accident.

The prefecture plans to submit related bills at the regular assembly of the prefectural assembly held in September, proceed with the procedure as soon as it is approved, and file a lawsuit in October.
