Did you miss the news from this early in the morning? We have concocted a recap to help you see more clearly.

Christchurch killer sentenced to irreducible life imprisonment

In view of the massacre perpetrated, the verdict is not surprising. The Christchurch mosque killer was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday without the possibility of release. White supremacist Brenton Tarrant was convicted of 51 murders of Muslim worshipers in the 2019 massacre. It is an exemplary verdict for an unprecedented act. The killer is indeed the first person to be sentenced in New Zealand to irreducible life imprisonment.

EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan resigns

European Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan resigned Wednesday evening. He could no longer cope with the pressure which had intensified for several days after the scandal caused by his participation in a gala dinner in Ireland despite the health restrictions. This is a big blow for Ireland which could lose its influence in Europe. The resignation of a Commissioner is indeed always a delicate matter because it affects the whole of the geographical and political balance on which the Commission is based. And now there is nothing to say that Ireland will manage to keep the prestigious trade commissioner post that another country might covet if the squad reshuffles.

Unprecedented US Sport Protest in Support of Jacob Blake

Don't let anything go. In the United States, the basketball players of the Milwaukee Bucks did not appear on the floor on Wednesday when they were to play their fifth game of the playoffs against Orlando. They decided to boycott the meeting to protest against police violence, while Jacob Blake was seriously injured on Sunday in Wisconsin. The NBA has announced that the three games scheduled for Wednesday (Orlando-Milwaukee, Thunder-Rockets and Blazers-Lakers) have been postponed.
