This left the Palestinian Authority with relief and disappointment in the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was betting on an acceleration of the pace of normalization to achieve a new diplomatic victory.

In this regard, episode (8/27/2020) of the "Scenarios" program asked about the possibility of the success of the American efforts in pushing Arab countries to normalize, even after a while.

For his part, a member of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Nabil Amr, said that Netanyahu led the process of promoting pre-normalization, believing that normalization is the card that guarantees him escaping from the internal dilemmas he suffers from, and therefore when he presented an explanation for the move of the Arab Emirates, he focused mainly on his interests Self, not the interests of the Emirates and Israel.

He added that what happened to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was a natural result, because the UAE’s move was a great deal of improvisation and haste, considering that the Arab countries that did not follow the UAE’s policy studied the matter with much wisdom, especially since there is no need to make such a leap towards Israel. In light of the insult that Israel sees them, as well as the Arab countries' assurance of Netanyahu's own political goals and the lack of any change that serves the interests of the Arabs and the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the Sudanese academic and writer Al-Baqir Al-Afif said that the Sudanese position was affected by the lack of agreement within the group of parties that make up the Forces of Freedom and Change, considering that the government did not want to seize the opportunity.

However, there was a bargaining power to place the Sudanese government's requests before Pompeo in exchange for the order of normalization, indicating that the American internal situation is encouraging for Sudan so that its requests are immediately responded to.

As for the science professor at Kuwait University, Abdullah Al-Shayji, he opposed the idea of exploiting the bargaining power within the Arab countries to achieve its demands with America, considering that this matter indicates the weakness and fracture of the Arab system, as well as the lack of commitment to the Arab initiative.

He added that countries are looking for their own interests that would enhance their position in the region, as is the case with the UAE, which took the step because it was convinced that it was pragmatic and served its economic interests.
