Ex-husbands Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - Panoramic / Panoramic / Starface

Earlier this month, Jolie sought to dismiss Judge John W. Ouderkirk who is in charge of mediating her divorce from Brad Pitt. Lawyers for the actress had filed a motion, accusing the lawyer of being in conflict of interest because of his professional links with one of Brad Pitt's lawyers.

And while the actor had already stepped up to the plate by accusing his ex-wife of trying to slow down the procedure to avoid losing custody of their six children, it is now the judge who is defending himself from any bias in this case. In legal documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, John W. Ouderkirk denies any conflict of interest and assures that he will remain impartial as he has always been in this matter.

Insoluble

In addition, Judge Ouderkirk considers that it is his right to intervene in ancillary cases concerning Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie as long as their divorce proceedings remain pending.

Indeed, since this same judge allowed the two stars to recover their single status in April 2019, the question of separation of property and especially that of child custody has remained insoluble.
