Akamatsu's maintenance work Shimane Yasugi 21:50 on August 27th

In the garden of an art museum in Yasugi, Shimane Prefecture, the work of Akamatsu, known as a summer tradition, is being carried out.

About 800 red pine trees are planted in the garden of Adachi Museum in Yasugi City.

On the 27th, gardeners from Kurayoshi City and Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture joined the gardeners dedicated to the museum, and a total of 13 people worked on Akamatsu's work known as a summer tradition.

From the morning, as the strong sunshine shone on, gardeners cut off unwanted branches and picked the leaves one by one, looking at the overall balance.

Then, when I scraped off the old skin by rubbing the trunk with a bamboo handbrush, the bright red tree skin peculiar to Akamatsu appeared.

Gardener Tomokazu Hamada said, “I want people visiting the museum to enjoy the redness of the skin, which is the feature of Akamatsu.”

The work for Akamatsu at Adachi Museum of Art is scheduled to continue until the middle of next month.
