The rise continues. More than 6,111 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in France in the past 24 hours, according to data provided this Thursday by Public Health France. As of Wednesday, 5,429 new positive diagnoses were found.

In 24 hours, 22 new foci of grouped cases (or clusters) were detected, also indicated the public body. Faced with an epidemic of the coronavirus which is "regaining ground", 21 departments are now in the red zone and the wearing of a mask will become compulsory in several cities, in particular in the whole of the capital. The government says it wants to "do everything" to avoid a "generalized reconfinement" devastating for the economy.

The number of people hospitalized and in intensive care down

4,535 people are still hospitalized due to the coronavirus, according to this daily report and 381 patients are in intensive care. Figures down since Tuesday, there were 4,600 people hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection, including 410 in intensive care. To date, 30,576 people have died in France from this disease, or 32 more in 48 hours.
