Gu Ya, 33, was born in Panxian, Guizhou. After graduating from the art major in 2014, with a guitar, he embarked on the path of becoming a rural teacher, teaching Chinese and music at Lazhai Primary School, Dawan Town, Zhongshan District, Liupanshui City, Guizhou.
"One day, senior Zheng Long told me that there was a Haiga Elementary School near Jiucaiping on the top of the mountain. In 2016, Gu Ya started to revitalize Haiga Primary School under difficult conditions. He and the principal Zheng Long brought 9 other teachers, and the teachers also appoint some students. Then he took the music to the top of the mountain. In 2018, they formed their first band "Yu Band", and the second year "Unknown Boys Band" was also formed the following year.
"In 2018, I posted the first Douyin to record the lives of my children and me. Because his father works outside, the 12-year-old guitarist of the "Unknown Boys Band" Xiong Ting lives with his mother. The change of music to Xiong Ting is obvious.
