Françoise Laborde did not appreciate Sylvie Tellier's justifications, following the disqualification of the candidate for Miss Guadeloupe Anaëlle Guimbi, because of photos for the fight against breast cancer. The journalist and TV presenter made it known on Europe 1, in Philippe Vandel's Culture Médias program.

INTERVIEW

The second round of justifications from the president of the Miss France committee does not convince. Sylvie Tellier tried again to defend disqualification from Anaëlle Guimbi's Miss Guadeloupe competition, in an interview with Le Parisien . "We just lacked the time and information to appreciate the context," explains Geneviève de Fontenay's successor. "I regret it," she continues.

Candidate Anaëlle Guimbi was accused of having posed a naked breast, which is contrary to the rules of the competition. However, the clichés aim to promote the fight against breast cancer and many are protesting against this decision. This is the case of journalist and TV presenter Catherine Laborde, who spoke at Philippe Vandel's microphone:

"She doesn't have time to look at the photos, Sylvie Tellier? Does the Miss France committee keep her busy? She doesn't know that breast cancer kills 12,000 women in France every year? She doesn't know that It is precisely in Guadeloupe and the islands that there is the least screening for breast cancer and protection against breast cancer? But anyway, it's shameful! "

Heard on europe1:

It's a game, a competition. It is not a Nobel Prize for virtue either!

The founder of the movement "For women in the media" called the Miss France committee to a little measure, judging that the incriminated photos are not indecent. "It's a game, a competition. It's not a Nobel Prize for virtue either!"

The strong reaction of Françoise Laborde will not change anything in the election of Miss Guadeloupe, which was held on Friday, August 21, since the regulations prevent going back. It is therefore Kenza Andrèze-Louison who will represent the Caribbean department.

Hello everyone ! Unfortunately this magnificent adventure that is Miss Guadeloupe ends here for me. Indeed, the photos you see turn out to be contrary to the values of Miss France. The rules are what they are, I bow but I will always continue to defend the values that are dear to me like this fight against breast cancer. I cannot thank you enough for all the support and love you have given me over the past few days. I would have lived this adventure fully, my only regret will be not to have been able to participate in the show and at the same time to show you all that you were right to support me. I wish all my adventure friends good luck, we make a great team and I'm happy to have had such great encounters. ❤️✨ Thanks for all girls! I remain convinced that the best will successfully represent our beautiful Guadeloupe! Thank you to the @missguadeloupeofficiel committee, this human adventure will have brought me a lot on all fronts! Make up by @mistermakeupartist ❤️

The eliminated candidate indicated that she had been offered to participate in the 2021 edition of the competition. But she refused. "I'm not disgusted, it was an experience that I lived fully, but that I do not want to relive," she told NRJ.
