"When they received the first batch of clothes, they brought a large garbage bag, the kind of garbage bag used for the large garbage bin, and packed 20 sets of combat uniforms. Once opened, the smell of sweat and sewage mixed is super sour. Shuang', the wet clothes are all mud, and the words Guizhou Fire Fighting printed on the clothes are completely invisible. The brothers wore dirty and wet clothes and struggled on the front line of flood control for so long. If it is dirty or smelly, wash them up."

Three fighters wash up to 90 sets of clothes a day

In recent days, heavy rainfall has continued to occur in many parts of Sichuan. Affected by heavy rainfall in the upper reaches, the flood control and disaster relief situation in the Tuojiang River Basin of the Yangtze River is severe.

On August 19, in accordance with the dispatching order of the Emergency Management Department, the Guizhou Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps mobilized its forces for reinforcements. The Liupanshui City Fire Rescue Detachment dispatched Guizhou’s first equipped washing fire truck and rushed to Sichuan for reinforcements with the four fire rescue detachments of Guiyang, Zunyi, Anshun, and Bijie.

The loaded washing fire truck is mainly responsible for the loading and washing of the front-line commanders and fighters, ensuring that the front-line fire commanders and fighters can wear clean and tidy clothes. Wang Yiwen, captain of the Liupanshui team of the Guizhou Fire and Rescue Corps, was responsible for liaising with the teams for active service and collecting the cleaning needs of the rescue suits.

Wang Yiwen introduced that the fire truck that was dispatched to Sichuan was equipped with two large washing machines, two large dryers, and a small household washing machine. The large washing machine can wash 10 suits at a time, and the small (washing machine) can wash 4 sets. It takes 25 minutes to wash the garment and 20 minutes to dry it.

Due to the large number of cleanings and time-consuming, in order to ensure the efficient operation of cleaning work, Wang Yiwen needs to do a good job of overall planning of time and personnel. There is only one set of emergency rescue "battle suits" for front-line firefighters, and there is no extra for replacement. This requires that the washing work must be carried out overnight or the front-line comrades should be carried out when they take turns and rest.

"The washing started around 8:40 on the 23rd. It was harvested early. It seemed to be finished at around 12pm." In the two days before the 23rd, rescuers worked hard on the front line of dredging and draining water in order to make the local area as soon as possible. People return to normal life and work, and they work hard until late. After finishing the work, it was late at night when the clothes were sent to the fire truck for washing. Wang Yiwen said he was a little proud when he closed at 12 o'clock in the evening on the 23rd.

At 22:40 on August 21, Wang Yiwen received the task of washing. The first-line commanders of the Guiyang Detachment had 30 suits to be washed. To ensure that they can put on clean combat uniforms the next day, Wang Yiwen led the two comrades of the detachment to immediately put into the washing work.

At noon on August 22, the front-line commanders and fighters took turns eating lunch. Seeing the silt and stains on everyone’s orange rescue suits, the three commanders and fighters of the Liupanshui Detachment voluntarily gave up the lunch time and quickly spent an hour cleaning 20 sets of combat suits for the Bijie Detachment. . At 11 o'clock in the evening on the 22nd, the Zunyi Detachment and Guiyang Detachment once again cleaned 48 sets of combat uniforms overnight.

On the most day, three commanders washed more than 90 sets of clothes.

Sichuan and Guizhou fire commander, transformed into a promoter of washing fire trucks

"On August 20th, the reinforcements from Guizhou arrived in Sichuan, but we did not receive the first batch of clothing until the evening of the 21st. The other fire brigade did not know that we were equipped to wash fire trucks, nor did we know that we were packaged for washing and drying. Yes, I contacted each detachment one by one and explained to them the role of washing fire trucks."

"Clothes that are not cleaned for a long time and are wet and smelly will affect your work. Wet clothes will make your body swollen if you wear them for a long time. Now we have the conditions, try our best to let the commanders and fighters wear clean clothes. I also contacted Luzhou. The firefighting and disaster relief personnel told them that they were equipped with washing fire trucks with strong cleaning ability and good drying effect after washing. They asked them to take their clothes and wash them if needed."

In order to fully ensure that firefighters can put on clean clothes and give full play to the role of washing fire trucks, Wang Yiwen has been introducing the functions of washing fire trucks to various fire brigades, and has successfully transformed into a promoted washing fire truck. .

Wang Yiwen, who turned into a promoter of washing fire trucks, is from Sichuan. He came to Guizhou from Sichuan to become a firefighter, and then went to Sichuan to protect his hometown from Guizhou!

"Before I came to Sichuan for reinforcements, I saw on the Internet that the floods in Sichuan were very serious, but the scene I saw afterwards made me feel more responsible. When we arrived in Jiangyang District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, many of the street shops here were already All submerged by the floods, the fellow villagers in Sichuan are waiting for flood relief workers to drain waterlogging and dredging."

"As a Sichuanese, I am very grateful to Guizhou for supporting this team in Sichuan, and I am proud to be one of them and make a little contribution to my hometown."

Wang Yiwen said that even though the fellow villagers in Sichuan are experiencing floods, they are still very optimistic. They can also make fun of each other without complaining. This makes Wang Yiwen feel relieved while worrying about the disaster.

The three firefighting officers and fighters of the Liupanshui Detachment are not only responsible for the related work of the installed and washing fire trucks, but also for the support of the dining trucks, the transportation of combat preparations, and the statistics of rescue data, and fully cooperate with the flood fighting.
