On August 23, a news that "two medical students kneeled to the ground to save lives was not effective but were criticized" caused heated discussions on the Internet.

It happened on the evening of August 14th. At the Changde Railway Station in Hunan Province, a middle-aged man fell to the ground with a sudden illness and became unconscious.

According to the deputy head of the station, the man who fainted was traveling alone without anyone accompanying him. In a critical moment, station staff and passing passengers have helped each other. At that time, two female medical students Peng Jieting and Chen Jiali from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine saw this and hurriedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial respiration for the man who fell on the ground until the ambulance arrived.

This rescue video was quickly spread online after the media was released, but it was met with spoofs, complaints, and rumors by netizens: "The next day, the family of the man took the two students to court because the two girls did not have medical qualifications. How is the plot.” This comment even received more than 60,000 likes.

Faced with this situation, the family of the middle-aged man stood up. The family of the man said, "Although the person is gone, we must be grateful. The two students have done their best; they are not to blame if the rescue is not successful." The family also criticized the spoofs and rumors of netizens: "If you don't know the truth, you will be confused. Commenting is unethical."

Medical students tell

When I was going to board the car, I saw someone fell straight down

In a picture taken by a mobile phone, a girl in yellow clothes is undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a man who fell on the ground; a girl in a white shirt is constantly tapping the man's face, trying to wake him up. The yellow girl's name is Chen Jiali, from Jiujiang, Jiangxi; the white girl's name is Peng Jieting, from Changdean Township. Both are 25 years old this year and are graduate students of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The two originally had to take the K502 train to Chengdu at 7:22 that night to take part in the training test organized by the school. When they were about to board the train, they found that the station staff and enthusiastic passengers were surrounding a man who fell to the ground for rescue, so they stepped forward to identify themselves and began the rescue.

According to Chen Jiali’s recollection: “We happened to pass by at the time. We saw a person who fell straight down. We looked at each other and hurried to rescue him. We saw that he was already in a coma, his mouth and face were black and blue, and lack of oxygen. , And then touched his pulse, breathed (no), and vital signs were very weak."

Peng Jieting said, “I just want to have a cardiopulmonary resuscitation as soon as possible. For patients with heartbeat and respiratory failure, they need to be rescued as soon as possible.”

Do your best to save people

After 120 arrived, the two girls couldn't help crying

While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Chen Jiali and Peng Jieting have been working hard to provide CPR and artificial respiration for the man who fell on the ground. In addition to fanning the wind on the sidelines to cool down the temperature, the staff at the station have to divert the flow of passengers and prevent onlookers. Throughout the rescue process, more than 6 strangers passed by for help, either delivering drinking water or participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In order to save people, the two girls also missed the K502 train that was supposed to take.

After 120 arrived, the two girls who had rescued left in tears.

In this regard, Chen Jiali said: "In fact, I really didn't think so much at the time, because in this case, I must only think about rescue. I don't have so many things in my mind, so I don't care about (the train)."

Peng Jieting said: "I'm just worried about whether I can help him, and whether my own measures can succeed in rescuing, this is the most important thing."

The live video showed that the two girls left silently after the 120 first responders who arrived at the scene carried the fallen man onto the stretcher. The moment they turned to leave the scene, the two couldn't help sobbing, and they covered their eyes with their arms, and kept wiping tears.

Regarding this, Peng Jieting said, “It seems that the patient did not have (recovered) in the end. Even when 120 came, he did not return to normal vital signs. I feel very sorry, very sad.”

Regrettably, Hu, the man who fell to the ground, died after being rescued. According to media reports, Hu is 58 years old and is from Shigongqiao Town, Dingcheng District, Changde City.

The two girls who were delayed in their journey due to rescuers, after cooperating with the completion of the inquiry transcript, the train station arranged another late train to Chengdu.

Be slandered

The man’s family members stood up and spoke out

After this video of saving lives was circulated on the Internet, many people comforted the two girls who saved them: "You have done your best" and "You have done your best. Don't blame yourself, it's good."

However, some netizens posted bad reviews saying that the two girls were not qualified to practice medicine and were not qualified to rescue. Some netizens even spoofed: "The family of the man took the two students to court the next day because the two girls did not have medical qualification certificates."

Inexplicably, this comment also received more than 60,000 likes. In this regard, the family of the deceased Hu Mou bravely stood up.

The family of the deceased asked the media for help and asked to thank the two girls face to face. The man’s family said: “It’s obviously to act bravely. If this is the case, many people will dare not reach out if they encounter difficulties in the future. It is immoral to make comments without knowing the truth.”

The family member of the man said: "You (referring to the two saving girls) have done your best. I really don't blame you. Although people are gone, you must be grateful."

In this regard, many netizens said: “Two girls in their 20s knelt on the ground for more than 20 minutes in order to save a stranger, and gave the man mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration. How much is this love and responsibility? Can an individual do it?"

Some netizens said: "Keyboardman, please spare the doctor or medical student, don't let the rescuer chill."
