At the microphone of Europe 1, Franck Annese, co-founder and leader of the So Press group, reviewed the success of "Society" this summer. The fortnightly survey has been read several hundred thousand times, he explains, with sales at least three times higher than normal.

INTERVIEW

He had become almost as untraceable as Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès. But "there will be something for everyone," reassures Franck Annese. Guest of  Culture Médias on Europe 1, the boss of SoPress, which publishes the magazine Society , reviewed the incredible success of the two issues devoted to the famous news item, which fascinates the French. "Usually, we sell 47,000 copies per issue, and there we will be between 150,000 and 200,000 per issue," he announces. "We must decide today if we reprint again, but I do not know", explains Franck Annese, affirming that it is necessary "to be careful of reprinting too much".

Both issues available until October 1

The success of the survey (dense, nearly 250,000 characters) was such that Society set up a site which allows to know where the numbers are available. "We start from the data by our distributor and we process them. There was a sort of number hunt: at one point, the buyers had to find the sellers," explains Franck Annese. The boss of SoPress also says that it was difficult to "find paper" during the summer. "We had them come by boat from Norway, it was a hassle!"

But readers did not hesitate to spend a lot to find the two numbers, when they were scarce. Sold in newsstands for less than four euros, they could also be found on LeBonCoin or Ebay for sums ranging from 15 to 50 euros per copy. "It makes me laugh and at the same time, it makes me a little sad. It's a bit stupid because there are newsagents who need people to come and buy newspapers (...) some buyers are crazy complement! " comments Franck Annese, who announces that both issues will be available for sale until October 1.
