  It is understood that, affected by the "8.18" heavy rain and floods, parts of the Leshan Giant Buddha Temple and Jiuqu Plank Road were affected to varying degrees, and cultural relic monitoring and safety facilities and equipment were seriously damaged.   After the flood receded, Sichuan cultural relic experts made a special trip to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area to investigate the damage to cultural relics, and pointed out that it is necessary to promptly investigate potential safety hazards and take targeted measures to formulate protection and repair plans and technical plans for the damaged cultural relics as soon as possible to minimize the loss of cultural relics. At the same time, it will strengthen the investigation and research on the disease of the Giant Buddha, and accelerate the rescue and protection of cultural relics such as the rescue and reinforcement of the Jiuqu plank road.

  The weather forecast issued by the Sichuan Meteorological Observatory shows that it is expected that there will be light to moderate rain in various cities in the basin from the evening of the 23rd to the day of the 24th. Among them, there will be heavy to heavy rains in Chengdu, Ya'an, Leshan, Meishan and western Yibin, and local heavy rains.

  In response to the possible heavy rainfall in Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area, staff, public security police and volunteers urgently transported a large number of sandbags to the Buddha's feet platform, and used sandbags to protect the rock mass under the Buddha's feet to prevent flooding from flooding the platform. Stepping on part of the rock mass will cause an impact to avoid new injuries.
