Passengers lose a million dollars at US airports in a year

Passengers left behind, when security checks at US airports last year, belongings worth about one million dollars, including about 19 thousand dollars in foreign currencies.

According to the Transportation Security Administration, travelers lost $ 926,000 at 75 airports over the past year, and specialists say that a lot of the lost money came from people emptying their pockets to conduct security checks.

The largest sums were lost at airports in New York, San Francisco, Miami, Las Vegas and Dallas, and at Pittsburgh International Airport, travelers lost an estimated $ 5,000.

The Transportation Security Administration suggests putting the cash in hand luggage and notifying travelers who have lost money that they can contact the Transportation Security Administration's lost property office at the airport.
