- It is fun that the work we technicians put in is appreciated, says sound engineer Johan Egeskog, who has worked with Sommar in P1 since 2012.

"The music in the podcast is abbreviated for copyright reasons"

Those who have listened to Sommar in P1 afterwards know that the songs that break in from time to time are shortened to around 30 seconds. Despite this, the result is often very good. This was the opinion of journalist and media profile Emanuel Karlsten, who wrote a post on Twitter in which he praised the editor.

He also posted a picture of the post on Instagram and added the text "Step forward, receive the cheers of the audience". Johan Egeskog was one of the sound engineers who responded to the post. Soon the comment field was filled with tributes.

“Hats off to you all! So professionally done! ”

Musical and wise haircut every time. The essence of a song is not easy to capture in a few seconds ”

"Some songs almost get better"

The profiles hung on

Even some famous faces hung in the tribute choir.

"A genius" writes the author and media profile Sigge Eklund.

"Hurray!" writes gastronomist Edward Blom.

The Christian Democrats' party leader Ebba Busch has also liked the post.

Takes a quarter to cut

- We actually get to hear things like this a little now and then via social media, but not that such a large media profile goes out with it, says Johan Egeskog who is one of five sound technicians who work with Sommar in P1.

Cutting down a song takes around a quarter of an hour, he says. Sometimes up to half an hour if you feel really sluggish at the moment.

- The most difficult songs are those that are varied and have many different types of musical passages. The challenge is to weave it together nicely into a whole that the listener can perceive in a good way. Sometimes you have to be selective and choose a passage that best represents what the program means.

Jesper Rönndahl's Beyoncé song most difficult

The funniest and toughest challenge was the comedian Jesper Rönndahl's summer talk.

- He drove Beyoncé's "Love on top" and specifically said that "here comes the song with the four raises in". So then I gave it my all to get them all in.
