On August 20, according to the China National Space Administration, China's high-resolution earth observation system Gaofen-7 satellite was officially put into use. As China’s first civil sub-meter optical transmission type 3D surveying and mapping satellite, the launch of the satellite marks the initial formation of the space-based earth-based observation capabilities of high spatial resolution, high temporal resolution, and high-precision observation created by Gaofen Special Project. It will further meet the data needs of users in basic surveying and mapping, global geographic information assurance, urban and rural construction monitoring and evaluation, and agricultural survey statistics.
