On August 19th, outside the Lu'an Library, readers lined up to enter the library.
Lu'an City Library in Anhui Province is the country's first full-library commissioned municipal public library, adopting a government-led, market-configured two-wheel drive model.
The library has 1,550 reading and leisure seats, a design collection of 1.2 million books, and an existing collection of 466,000 books (pieces). In order to meet the reading space needs of different groups of people, Lu'an City Library has set up 8 reading areas including newspapers and periodicals reading area, low-school area, children’s area, literature area, and social science reading area. Combined with the local cultural characteristics of Lu’an, a red area has been set up. Cultural area, Gaotao law area, Western Anhui writers and scholars area.
At the same time, it broke the traditional concept of library zoning and set up a 24-hour self-service library, new book area, cultural and creative product area, leisure and dining area and other functional areas in the library to solve the problem of insufficient copies of new books in the library and insufficient supply of diversified demand.
Lu'an City Library has received 1.062 million readers from its trial operation on June 30, 2019 to August 10 this year, and has circulated 1.553 million books. It has become an Internet celebrity check-in place for many readers.
In May of this year, Lu'an City Library won the "Ten Most Beautiful Public Libraries in Anhui Province" selected by the Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and was awarded the title of "Top Ten Night Reading Spaces in Anhui Province" in July. (Edited by Wu Lan by Le Xiaomin)
