The role means acting debut for Tove Lo, whose real name is Tove Nilsson.

The director is Norwegian Erik Poppe, who has previously done "Utøya 22 July". Gustaf Skarsgård and Lisa Carlehed play Karl Oskar and Kristina.
The character Ulrika in Västergöhl, a former prostitute who seeks new opportunities in the USA, was played by Monica Zetterlund in Jan Troell's classic film adaptation from 1971.
Initially, the filming of the new big movie would take place in the Czech Republic, but they have been moved to Västra Götaland and will begin on 1 September.
