In light of the latest data from the Directorate General of Health (DGS), the increase in the number of new Covid-19 contaminations on Monday (less than 500 people) seemed to be slowing down somewhat. But this figure started to rise again on Tuesday. In its daily report, the DGS indicates that 2,238 new positive cases for the coronavirus were recorded in 24 hours. Thus bringing the total of cases to 16,129 over the week.

French hospitals have admitted 185 new patients with Covid-19 in the past 24 hours compared to 234 on Monday. In total, 4,823 people are hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection. Twenty-eight patients were also admitted to intensive care units, against 34 on Monday. In total, 380 people are in intensive care for a coronavirus infection.

22 deaths since Monday

Since the start of the epidemic, 30,451 people have died in France (i.e. 22 deaths since Monday), including 19,940 in hospitals and 10,511 in social and medico-social establishments - a figure that has just been updated and will be. again in a week.

The percentage of positive tests continues to increase, to 3% against 2.9% on Monday and 29 new foci of grouped cases (clusters) have been detected, also indicated the DGS,
