Cardi B appears to have become the Democrats' favorite interviewer. After Bernie Sanders, whom she supported, the interpreter of Bodak Yellow interviewed Joe Biden. The interview via Zoom, commissioned by the US edition of ELLE magazine , aired on Monday, just before the opening of the White House candidate's party convention.

The rapper was, as usual, "cash" in her way of expressing herself. She explained what she wanted for her country: the truth about the Covid-19 pandemic, reimbursement of medical care for all (Medicare for All), free access to higher education and "that blacks stop being kill without justice being done ”.

Joe Biden remained more cautious about social security for all, one of the subjects of disagreement with Bernie Sanders. Cardi B has yet put the subject back on the table several times. On the other three themes, the Democratic candidate declared himself "optimistic". “You are the smartest, best educated, and most engaged generation in history. And you will change things. I really think so ! I'm not saying that to be nice, ”said the 77-year-old candidate.

"Clear Trump"

Cardi B, who is the mother of a two-year-old girl, also called for an effort to help parents look after their children when they work, especially with school closures linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. Another subject Joe Biden has agreed on. He recalled that he himself is well aware of this problem, having had to raise his two sons alone after the death of his wife and one of their children in a car accident. “I couldn't pay someone to look after my children. Fortunately, my sister, brother and mother helped me. But a lot of people don't have this help, ”he explained.

Finally, here is the subject on which Joe Biden and Cardi B agree 100%: “clearing Trump,” as the 27-year-old singer put it. “It's (for Donald Trump) about making people hate each other, because that's how he wins, by dividing us. Your generation is changing that, ”added Joe Biden, who also reiterated the importance of youth voting. “In 2016, if 18-24 year olds had voted in the same proportion as the rest of the population, that would have made an additional 5.2 million votes. We wouldn't have Trump. We would have Hillary Clinton. Voting is important, ”he added.
