146 women were killed in 2019 by their spouse or ex-companion, 25 more than the previous year, according to figures from the investigation by the delegation to victims made public by the Ministry of the Interior on Monday.

27 men were also killed within the couple, that is to say 173 deaths in total (+ 16%). This represents on average one death every two days. However, 2019 was a year of raising awareness on the subject, declared a “great cause of the five-year term”, notably with a Grenelle against violence in the fall.
