Today, Emirates Today and the Faraj Fund launch a humanitarian campaign called “Sanadcom”, to help 620 students from families of inmates in penal and correctional facilities at the state level, especially in light of the Corona pandemic.

The campaign aims to provide the basic needs and tablets (laptops) for school students who are included in the campaign.

The campaign includes 350 citizen students and 270 resident students who are residents of penal and correctional facilities at the state level, as part of the support for distance education and their enrollment in studies.

The General Director of the Faraj Fund, Hamad Abdul Rahman Al-Nuaimi, stated that “based on the leadership’s vision to spread the values ​​of tolerance in society, and within the framework of the ongoing strategic partnership with the Ministry of Interior and the Emirates Today newspaper, we have launched, as of today, the“ Sanadcom ”campaign, which aims to help children Inmates of penal and correctional facilities at the state level, and the provision of basic needs for distance education, to bring joy and happiness to them and their families in the new school year.

He said, "This campaign comes within the framework of community initiatives and fruitful cooperation between the Fund and Emirates Today newspaper to help inmates of penal and correctional facilities and their families over the past years, and aims to enhance the spirit of cooperation among community members, by launching a campaign primarily concerned with helping families of financially distressed prisoners."

He explained that the campaign's main goal is to help students with limited income, whose circumstances prevented them from providing a tablet for remote learning and joining the study, in the absence of the breadwinner behind prison bars.

He added, "The list of those included in the campaign was chosen from all prisons in the Emirates, with the aim of bringing joy and smiles to everyone."

He pointed out that "coordination has been made with prison administrations in the country, to prepare a list of the names of eligible students included in this campaign," pointing out that "all cases have been carefully studied, to ensure the extent of their eligibility for charitable donations."

He added that the fund management always seeks to translate the leadership policy in charitable and humanitarian work, through which we seek to extend a helping hand to inmates and their families who meet the conditions of entitlement to help and alleviate their suffering, as a translation of the approach established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, kind May God rest his soul, and he followed his approach and was reinforced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Al-Nuaimi called on all community members, including donors and philanthropists, to lend a helping hand to this segment of the children of troubled prisoners, and to help them provide the basic needs they need to complete their education.

The editor-in-chief of Emirates Al-Youm newspaper, Colleague Sami Al-Riyami, said, "The campaign comes in the context of social initiatives, which (Emirates Today) has been implementing for years and met with great success," indicating that the current campaign comes to help 620 students from among the children of inmates of penal facilities. And reformatory at the state level in providing tablets for them to enable them to study remotely, through a successful partnership with (Faraj Fund), ”expressing his confidence in the response of individuals and state institutions to the campaign, in order to make it a success.

He called on associations, civil institutions, private companies and businessmen to interact with the campaign, by making donations to help these students in the absence of their breadwinners behind prison bars.
