Actor Jim Parsons - Chris DELMAS / VISUAL Press Agency

What if we told you that The Big Bang Theory ending  was caused by a dog? The series wrapped up last year, after 12 seasons, disappointing many fans who were hoping to see it continue. A choice made by the production largely because Jim Parsons did not wish to continue. And if the actor made this decision, it is largely because of the death of one of his dogs.

“Our final contract was for the last two years, but when we signed it nobody knew what it meant. Somehow, I suspected deep down that it was ending when I signed this contract. I was exhausted and really upset, more than anything, because one of our dogs was really coming to the end of his life at this time, ”he said during an episode of David Tennant's podcast.

A real turning point

And soon after, Jim Parsons had no choice but to euthanize his then 14-year-old faithful canine companion. “The dog died, he was 14, and Todd (her boyfriend) and I had been together for 15 years by then, so that was a page turning,” the actor continued.

A dramatic event which therefore precipitated the end of The Big Bang Theory which, otherwise, could well have lasted two more seasons. What a pity !
