The Pagés company, headed by businessman Ramón Valencia, manager of the Real Maestranza de Sevilla, has announced that, due to the new regulations implemented by the Andalusian Government for bullfighting shows, it has officially suspended the San Miguel Fair , which In principle, it was to be held at the end of next September.

"Given the new COVID-19 measures adopted by the Junta de Andalucía, published in the BOJA of August 13, 2020, which establish a safety distance of 1.5 meters between people in bullfighting shows, the Pagés Company considers the celebration of the San Miguel fair , scheduled for September 26 and 27 in Seville, "the company says in a note.

The decision of the Junta de Andalucía represents a "notable reduction" in capacity and "makes it impossible" to hold the two bullfights planned for San Miguel, for which the company "had already closed the posters with the intention of announcing them next week" . Once the new regulations of the Junta de Andalucía have been known and valued, the Pagés Company regrets having to make this decision and summons the fans to the April Fair in 2021.

Ramón Valencia is one of the members of Anoet, the bullfighting business association that has opened a file with the businessman José María Garzón after the controversy over the capacity in El Puerto de Santa María. The Maestranza has been closed all summer despite the fact that the Board allowed 50% of the capacity while in the rest of Andalusian towns different celebrations have been programmed.

There will be no Goyesca in Ronda either. The businessman, Rivera Ordóñez, has announced his suspension after decreeing the mandatory separation of a meter and a half among the attendees. In a veiled allusion to businessman Garzón, he blamed "irresponsible businessmen." Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Linares maintain, for now, the announced celebrations.
